In depth

Verdict

Although a Group One event, this looks all about one horse. CIRRUS DES AIGLES was last seen on the track chasing home the mighty Frankel at Ascot in October and if anywhere near his best on his return to action then he's the one to beat. He came unstuck on last year's reappearance, however, so connections of German raider Novellist will be hopeful with Ryan Moore taking over the reins and Frankie is reunited with Joshua Tree for the first time since partnering him to success in a Group 1 at Woodbine last year. The latter hasn't been at his best so far this season and finished well behind 2011 Melbourne Cup winner, last year's Caulfield Cup hero and recent Coronation Cup runner-up Dunaden, at Epsom while last month's York winner Dalkala looks best of the remainder.
