In depth

Verdict

'Frankie Fans' may be out in force for the opener but LENKIEWICZ has already gained some vital experience at this course and, as she is improving with each run, the Rod Millman-trained filly has a solid chance of landing her maiden on these terms. Inside Track and Flaming Miracle pose obvious threats, while Madame Roulin also caught the eye on her debut earlier this month. She is another to bear in mind. Madame Roulin is out of a half-sister to winning sprinter Sir Xaar but she got a mile well on the all-weather at Lingfield. The switch to turf shouldn't really be an issue and, with Hayley Turner riding at the top of her game just now, the filly will get plenty of assistance from the saddle. Flaming Miracle is a consistent type and is hardened from seven previous outings. Admittedly, he's displayed signs of temperament in the preliminaries but does seem to be getting the hang of things now. However, being out of a Highest Honour mare, it's also fair to assume he may be better suited by a sterner test of stamina before too long. Inside Track sets the standard on the BHA official ratings and has to make the shortlist. Frankie Dettori has an 18% strike-rate for trainer Brian Meehan and this son of Bertolini is a good outside ride for Godolphin's top man. Quite whether the gelding represents great value at the likely odds is debatable, though. Therefore, it can pay to take a chance with Lenkiewicz, who ran out of her skin to finish third (3 lengths behind the 104-rated Shamandar) in a big sales race at Ascot last month. A nicely-bred filly, Lenkiewicz has made good strides since her debut in June and, as she has a proven ability to gallop all the way up Salisbury's stiff finish; this progressive filly is taken as the best option to derail the Dettori bandwagon.
