        Verdict

        DESERT FORCE was sent off a short-priced favourite on his debut at Ascot last month but faded inside the final furlong and only beat one home. Expect Richard Hannon's colt to leave that form a long way behind here and he can recoup losses. Harlequin Striker has been placed three times in a row over this course and distance and is getting closer. He had Lysander The Greek behind last time and is by Bahamian Bounty, as are newcomers Awjab and Code Red, but Twilight Son is a more interesting debutant being by Kyllachy out of a mare that's already produced three winners for Henry Candy. Little Riggs and Oriental Splendour should both improve from their initial run.
