Verdict
ON TO VICTORY (NAP) has been a real flag-bearer for his yard this season and has run some fine races in defeat since winning a handicap here in June. Carrying top weight, he was fourth over this trip in the Melrose at York last month and should be too good for older rivals at the weights. Taws has found some form but she’s a thorough stayer and faces a very stiff task at the weights. Battersea was quietly fancied for the Ebor last month but never got in a blow. He possibly needed the run so looks the danger to the selection as he has the beating of Soldier In Action on the form book. Prince Of Arran has his sights lowered but is hard to win with.
