In depth

Verdict

Kibara is taken to prevail at the expense of Hanella, Juniper Girl and Fire Two. Kibara improved steadily to score at Lingfield in July, but managed to find one too good when given her handicap debut at Windsor next time, giving the distinct impression that she really needs further than 12 furlongs. That is not surprising, given that she is a full-sister to the St Leger winner Milan, but we are prepared to give her another chance, as she seems a progressive enough sort, and meets nothing of any great note here. Hanella has thrived since being upped in trip, just doing enough on each of her last two outings, so theoretically may be well treated, while Juniper Girl has in the main been costly to follow. Fire Two has not made the most of a drop in the handicap of late, and is another that looks as though he needs further, and all in all, Kibara has more scope than most so is the selection.
