Verdict

Jo Hughes is enjoying an excellent season and her Harbour Captain, the sole 3-y-o, is expected to go well for the Lambourn yard. An easy winner of a Bath seller over 1m last time, the son of Captain Rio is expected to take this rise in grade in his stride. He was close to being the selection but a chance is taken with DANESIDE as a value option. He's not been beaten at all far on his last three starts after returning from a year off, suggesting his ability remains in tact and faces optimum conditions here for Gary Harrison whose small Newmarket string is performing well. Takitwo continues to defy the passage of time and the 10-y-o looks solid each-way material whilst Richard Price does well in these contests and fields recent course winner Loyal N Trusted. He has two course wins to his name but both have come over 7f and the additional furlong is a possible question mark. Bert The Alert, dropping in trip is also worthy of note.
