In depth

Verdict

Oratory should be able to have a say but this can go the way of Mohanad unless one of the newcomers proves to be out of the ordinary. The selection shaped well in a Doncaster maiden that was won by Jeremy Noseda's well regarded Himalya who went on to finish fourth in the Coventry. He was well held next time (the winner looked useful and was due to run in a novice stakes on Friday) but the front two pulled clear of the field and it will take a good one to lower his colours. Oratory shaped well on debut in what appeared to be a fair maiden and that form may well have received a boost by the time the race is run as the second and fourth were due to run on Saturday and Friday respectively. Supernoverre needs to take another step forwards to be competitive but could figure whilst the newcomers should be checked for market support but they'll need to be above average to lower the colours of Mohanad.
