In depth

Formwatch

La Speziana (IRE) Has been struggling of late and still too high in the weights.

Slumbering (IRE) Decent winner of competitive Kempton handicap in April and will relish these testing conditions but still 5lb higher in weights.

Atlantic Ace Fairly treated on winning form at Goodwood in June and acts on the ground but has longish absence to overcome.

Mysteri Dancer Acts on a soft surface but 6lb higher than previous handicap success; others preferred.

Factual Lad Dropping down the weights but has disappointed on a soft surface in the past.

Tapau (IRE) May be in handicapper's grip after being raised 4lb for narrow win at Lingfield last month and best form on a fast surface.

White Emir In good form during the summer (won Kempton handicap in June) and handles soft ground but below best recently.

Cair Paravel (IRE) Will need to show more than of late to feature in the finish here.

Eurolink Zante (IRE) Lightly raced type who will handle these conditions but may find one or two too good.

Cowboys And Angels On a winning mark but appears better on a faster surface.

Taranaki Took advantage of drop in class to win classified event latest; on a fair mark but ground is a concern.

Contrary Mary Held by Taranaki on Chepstow form but can do better on this testing ground; place claims.

Thrust Out of form at present.

Cork Harbour (FR) Better over this trip rather than further and came back to form with avengeance latest; trip/going ideal and races off same mark here; will prove hard to beat.

Our First Lady Solid effort in Leicester handicap penultimate but flopped latest and ground a worry.

Amber Fort Acts well on testing ground and won competitive 6f handicap at Salisbury in May off 2lb higher mark; each way chance.
