      Verdict

      Dark Red showed some good form at this level last year but has struggled for consistency in 2017 and needs some help from the handicapper, as does Beardwood. EUGINIO (NAP) wasn’t beaten far on his reappearance at Newmarket and although he has gone up in the weights since then, there’s reason to expect more from the lightly raced three-year-old. He can win this from Sinfonietta, who would ideally be suited by softer underfoot conditions, but will relish the step up in trip. Pacify and Banish have questions to answer after two poor runs this year while there are question marks about Mutarakez’s stamina.
