In depth

Verdict

Gores Island returned to winning ways at Plumpton in May but his reward is a 9lb higher mark. Rothman is probably best watched on his handicap debut but there are possibilities about Kilmurvy, who finished ahead of Little Boy Boru when third at Fontwell, and the maiden Sun Wild Life. Listen And Learn finished ahead of Midnight Oscar over 3m at Uttoxeter last month but was still beaten 15 lengths and neither will appreciate the shorter trip. NO NO MAC had probably gone off the boil when disappointing at Haydock in April. He goes well fresh and could prove a bit better than this grade this winter.
