Verdict

Irish-trained mares have won the last two so we'll be keeping on the right side of recent Fairyhouse scorer Avellino. A four-year-old was successful 12 months ago so the unbeaten Woolstone One goes on the short-list, though steps up to 2m for the first time today. Listen To The Man made a winning start under Rules at Wetherby while The Nipper has been impressive in a couple of starts at Bangor. Tearsofclewbay won well at Ascot under Conor Smith but Richard Johnson had ridden her at Uttoxeter and prefers COPPER KAY today. Fourth in this last year when she didn't get the run of the race. Philip Hobbs' mare has won her other three starts with the minimum of fuss and compensation awaits.
