      Verdict

      POET’S WORD (NAP) won at this level at Goodwood last August and was second twice in Group 1 company last season and also on his reappearance in the Dubai Sheema Classic. He should have too much class for his four rivals here as his trainer will have a good line on Fabricate, beaten a short-head by Sir Michael Stoute’s Crystal Ocean over track and trip last time. Laraaib lost his unbeaten record when stepping up to Pattern company at Haydock in August and has plenty to find on the form book but Air Pilot has won decent contests on heavy ground in France this spring and has no Cracksman or Rhododendron to contend with this evening though, like Desert Encounter, is carrying a penalty.
