In depth

Verdict

Lawn Ranger is only a pound higher than when winning at Windsor in the spring but the fourth that day, NONSUCH LAD, needed that run and is fancied to turn the tables at a track he’s won on before. The drop back in trip could be a problem for recent Epsom scorer Night Eagle, who also has a penalty to carry, but Mrembo is still at the right end of the handicap even though Olivia Tubb partnered her to victory at Newbury two runs ago. Niarbyl Bay disappointed at Newmarket but was giving weight to a host of improving three-year-olds and his yard is in better form now.
