Verdict

Newmarket winner Doctor Crane showed nothing on his return from a two year lay-off in April and it's no surprise to see him dropped into a claimer as a result. However, it is a surprise to see recent Carlisle Belle winner MIAMI GATOR in this grade and he need only reproduce that running, or indeed the form of his latest eighth at York, to take this. Avon River is capable at this level but has got his own ideas about the game, while the handicapper refuses to relent with Dr Wintringham so she takes her chance at this level. The remainder a have plenty to find on today's terms.
