        Verdict

        My Dream Boat won last year’s renewal and went on to land the Group 1 Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Ascot in soft ground. But he’s arguably best with some cut so DEAUVILLE is preferred. The Ballydoyle colt won a Grade 1 contest on the Turf at Belmont last year before going close in the Arlington Million and should be that much sharper than today’s main rivals having been beaten at Meydan last month. Royal Artillery won a Group 3 at Haydock in August but was no match for the high-class Almanzor at Deauville later in the same month while Ulysses also won a Group 3 over 1m4f at Goodwood last year but was well behind Highland Reel in the Breeders’ Cup Turf in November. All of the remiander have plenty to find with the principals on these terms.
