Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

A small field for this renewal and Charlie Farnsbarns is preferred to Massive and Norisan. Brian Meehan's representative is making a first run for the season but with Frankie Dettori on board, confidence is high and the stable's runners do seem to be performing much better than they were. Massive was highly tried as a juvenile but disappointed on seasonal reappearance in the Fielden Stakes. Fishforcompliments finished ahead of him on that day but might not be so suited if the rain comes. Norisan's third to Fares reads well and he is better judged on that than his Classic trial where he patently failed to stay. Jo'Burg was well beaten in the 2,000 Guineas and faces a stiff task. Charlie Farnsbarns looks to have plenty of positives at this grade and is afforded the nomination.
