In depth

Verdict

MAJOR IVAN stepped up to this trip for the first time here a month ago and, after being well supported, could hardly have won more easily. The runner-up Black Jack Rover looks well held while it was over fences that Sharp Rise scored on the track in October and that's where his future lies. Tickenwolf was a 150/1 chance at Wetherby in March which was hardly surprising given his previous form but he belied the odds with a cracking effort and looks the one to shake-up the selection.
