Verdict
Brelan D'As has been well below par in two runs this year and Lucky Robin also has a bit to prove at present. Costly Diamond is 3-4 around here and was in front when trying to run out and unseating Brian Hughes at Bangor 10 days ago. Ar Mest had departed earlier in that contest but hadn’t beaten far twice at Newcastle previously. Hughes has ridden ARMATTIEKAN the last twice but Theo Gillard takes off a handy 3lb today and Donald McCain’s charge can pick up the winning thread again.
