In depth
Verdict
It's Bertie won well enough over hurdles at Cartmel last time and could be of interest on his chasing bow but, along with Thedublinpublican, he may struggle to get the better of General Alarm who looks to have been found an ideal opportunity to gain an overdue first success over fences. The selection has the highest BHB rating of these and a reproduction of recent efforts should suffice in this company. Count Fosco gave little cause for optimism on his chasing debut at Cartmel last month, while Sovereign State was pulled up on his only previous start over fences and is on a long losing sequence. Three Mirrors could be of interest on his chasing debut although a bigger threat may come from the consistent Thedublinpublican, who is entitled to be thereabouts again. General Alarm has solid claims though and he gets the vote.
