NOVIS ADVENTUS made a gallant attempt to make all over slightly shorter at Tipperary but was caught close home by Radanpour. Xebec, who was around four lengths back in third that day on her debut, has since disappointed when odds-on at Cork so the placings can be confirmed. Torcedor has a nice pedigree and wouldn't need to be a world-beater to make a winning debut while Andy Oliver won the race with a 25/1 chance last year so either of his pair, especially the newcomer Plain Talking, could spring another surprise.
