Verdict

A three-year-old gained a rare victory in this last year and that age group are well represented this time. Pearl Earing beat a strong field at Fairyhouse and with the ground easing all the time she has to be on the shortlist. Angel Of Joy scored over a mile at Gowran then stepped up another quarter of a mile at Fairyhouse so what he's doing at this trip is anyone's guess. Caprella has never won in 19 starts on Turf despite going close on several occasions so can hardly be trusted with the vote while Indian Landing, who finished mid-division a year ago, is generally better over an extra furlong. FLIC FLAC just held on over slightly further at Leopardstown under Robbie Downey before running reasonably well in a Naas Listed contest. Dermot Weld is using the young rider's claim again and the six-year-old can get back on the winning trail.
