Verdict
Chicken Soup was good enough to run close in Listed company a couple of starts ago and now 3lb lower in a handicap he makes plenty of appeal and can take this from Kabeer, Orpen Wide and Vainglory. The selection has won twice over c&d in the past and he has arguably been very unlucky not to have won since January of last year, while still going up in the handicap since. Now he has dropped to a more reasonable mark and he has conditions to suit he can get back to winning ways. Kabeer has won twice over c&d recently but is now a stone higher than the first of those wins. That rise found him out last time and should do so again. Michael Chapmen's Orpen Wide likes it here and won over c&d himself 13 months ago. He is 4lb higher than when scoring at Haydock in September but has a 5lb claimer up and could go very well. Of the remainder, Vainglory is very lightly raced and is open to improvement especially now dropped back to a mile and has some very solid form to bring to the party. He could turn out to be the big danger to the selection, and that is Chicken Soup.
