        Verdict

        The market could tell us plenty and we try Marie Claude against Grapes of Wrath and Hawa Khana. Jeremy Noseda doesn't have too many 52-rated horses in his stables and Marie Claude, who has been notably easy to back on three starts thus far, makes her handicap debut with a first time tongue-tie. Mark Johnston's runners always are respected and on jockey bookings, Grapes Of Wrath looks the first pick of their entry. She looks modest although in her defence, she did put up an encouraging effort when tried here in December. Greg Fairley has got off the front-running Neyrann to take the ride. Hawa Khana invariably threatens to win races although looks to have found an uncanny knack of learning how to lose them. Two recent near misses say it all. Anabaa's Secret ran up against a good one at Kempton and drops back to eight furlongs this afternoon. Miss Tilen produced her best effort to date on introduction to Southwell. She could have each-way claims at generous odds. Hero Heart was heavily punted on debut at Lingfield but has been unsighted since. A switch to handicapping and a longer trip could work the oracle. A race with plenty of imponderables and Marie Claude gets the vote.
