Verdict

MISTER INCREDIBLE may not have to live up to his name to land the opener, while Woqoodd and Tadlil can make a race of it. The selection, like Tadlil, hails from a yard going well just lately although the gelding has not won for 18 months. He has enjoyed three of his career successes from higher marks than today's 51, two of which came over course and distance, and with a decent draw we give him the nomination. Woqoodd was a firm ground Pontefract scorer in August 2007 but has not managed to add to that tally in 13 subsequent starts. He remains on the same mark as when going close over the minimum trip in a first-time visor at Lingfield on New Year's Eve but one poor run on this surface suggests that he has a bit to prove today. Tadlil has gone a year longer and 15 starts since his last success but has performed with credit from this mark in a couple of recent runs and looks capable of making the frame once more. Charlotte Grey has never won on anything but the Polytrack, a surface also clearly preferred by Nautical, while Phinerine finds winning very taxing and Mister Incredible looks capable of taking this poor opener.
