Verdict
Scooby Dude is taken to defy topweight ahead of stablemate Canina, Stoneacre Lad and Tiber Tilly. This is not the best of nurseries and should be within the scope of Scooby Dude who looked a nice prospect when landing a maiden at Leicester in May. Last of eight in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at the Royal meeting next time, his sights have been considerably lowered since, and he ran a race full of promise when third in a Wolverhampton nursery four days ago. That was his first try on an artificial surface, and although this is a drop back in trip today, the fibresand will place more of an emphasis on. stamina. His stablemate Canina was back in seventh at Wolverhampton, and again has the assistance of the very much in-form Eddie Ahern, but they meet on the same terms, so preference has to be for Scooby Dude. Stoneacre Lad faded right out of contention after trying to make all over seven furlongs here last month. Today's trip will suit and he should be up there throughout. Tiber Tilly makes her all-weather debut, and this Goodwood nursery winner should be noted in the betting on her first outing since October, but Scooby Dude has fitness on his side and should go close.
