Verdict
Warden Warren may be the answer in the opener, with Mount Royale, Yorker and topweight Weet Watchers by no means out of it. Warden Warren has paid his way on Turf in the past, but seemed to lose his way last year until returning to form over Christmas. Just touched off here, he went one better at Wolverhampton next time and then made a bold bid to defy a penalty at the latter track on his latest outing. Although he is creeping back up the weights again, Hayley Turner's claim should help, and his draw in stall seven should help him to race a bit wide of most of the others, as he does not like company. Mount Royale's last win came in selling company at Brighton in July, but his best effort since came just four days ago when third here behind Game Guru. The topweight Weet Watchers was in action the same day when successful in weak company. He is now trained on course to save him travelling as he has a tendency to break blood vessels, and should give a good account. The drop in grade and trip should help Yorker, and he is closely matched with Warden Warren on their running behind Arc En Ciel. It promises to be a tight-knit affair in which only a narrow vote goes to Warden Warren.
