In depth
Verdict
A lot of guesswork involved here as none of these have shown any worthwhile recent form, and so we will stick our pin in Hawkit, with Macaroni Gold and Chater Knight put forward as the main dangers. The selection is from a yard in form and he did show plenty of ability on the turf during last summer. He reached a high of 75 and so must have strong claims dropping into selling company for the first time. Chater Knight beat a decent enough claimer field here in December and as that was only his second ever racecourse visit he is open to plenty of improvement. Macaroni Gold is probably a better horse over two miles but should still be capable of taking a hand in the finish. Shaheer may do best of the others, but in a wide open contest, Hawkit just gets the verdict.
