Verdict
The in-form WHOZART has solid claims and is selected in preference to Avoca Dancer and Cape Of Storms. It's also feasible that each-way support for Afton View could return a dividend and he is another worth bearing in mind. However, the last named is a long standing maiden and his tendency to throw in the towel will always be disconcerting. Cape Of Storms has a similar profile; as evidenced by a solitary win from 39 previous starts. However, bearing in mind he has made the frame in a quarter of his starts; allied to a lack of strength in depth amongst the rest, he also has to be a leading candidate to take home a slice of the prize-money. Avoca Dancer comes into the equation on the pick of her efforts and, as she seems to be adapting well to the racing surface at Southwell, Gay Kelleway's representative would be dangerous to rule out. Nevertheless, Whozart has a stronger profile and, having shown his well being with a cracking effort here nine days ago, the Alan Dickman-trained gelding is fancied to be the one they will all have to get passed today.
