In depth

Verdict

Angel Palanas beat Mr Minerals by only a neck over track and trip last time and that pair are hard to separate. Hammer Gun has won six times here, including last year's renewal ,but arrives in woeful form and WELD AL EMARAT is preferred. The latter won here on his racecourse debut way back in 2014 and was returning for the first time since when romping home by six lengths on his latest start. Mick Easterby's charge is taken to go in again despite a hike in the weights. Gentlemen won a higher grade contest at Chelmsford last month but debuts on the Fibresand but Esprit De Corps is worth a second glance on his return having only his second start for David Barron.
