In depth

Verdict

Kabeer is in great heart just now and is selected ahead of Evens And Odds and Bo McGinty. A case can also be stated for Cornus on these terms but he may need a little more assistance from the handicapper before he becomes a serious betting proposition again. Bo McGinty is horse with plenty of ability and has also hit a rich vein of form lately. Still he does not always show his true talents on the racecourse and can be hard to win with. A 6lb penalty also makes life hard for him today. Evens And Odds is much better off at the weights with the selection from their encounter here three weeks ago. So he has to be given a solid chance of reversing the form. However, Kabeer is in tip-top shape just now and, having proved he has the speed to figure over sprint distances, he is taken to hold court once more this afternoon.
