Verdict
Silver Hotspur confirmed that he stays a mile when running out the comfortable winner here last week and Michael Wigham's gelding has to be respected under his 6lb penalty but he may find this coming too soon and preference is for Cerebus, who gets the vote ahead of Dickie Le Davoir. The last mentioned is a consistent performer and should again be thereabouts off what seems a fair mark. Oi Vay Joe has a long absence to overcome and of more interest may be Michael Chapman's Louisiade but he does have a bit to find with Silver Hotspur on running here last week. Alan McCabe's Dasheena has been given a two month break since his latest start and has to be respected but preference is for stable companion Cerebus, who has been given a break since his latest start when beaten behind Michael Wigham's gelding and that break may have done him good.
