In depth
Verdict
ARGANIL is in tremendous form at present and can defy another 7lb rise to complete a hat-trick here, while Wotashirtfull and Rebel Duke should be in the mix. The selection has scored at both Great Leighs and Wolverhampton and tries the Fibresand for the first time. This trip looks his optimum and as one who has good form with cut in the ground there is no reason why he won't take to this surface, so we will side with him. Wotashirtfull fits a similar profile to the selection and is upped just 1lb for winning a minor Lingfield handicap last time. He has made the frame on both previous tries here and may have to settle for that once again. Rebel Duke, on the other hand, has gone up 6lbs for a narrow margin success over course and distance and his task looks tough enough, though he is almost guaranteed to give his running with first-time cheek pieces a boost. The Tatling is a tremendous old servant who would have won this doing handstands at his best but is still a very capable runner at this level and he is likely to be competitive, while Xpres Maite probably needs a drop in the weights. Arganil can complete the hat-trick.
