In depth
Verdict
A number of the usual suspects on view and this can go to Spanish Star although Crocolat and Banners Flying are respected at this grade. Norma Macauley's charge has a good record at the track over this trip and while his last race was disappointing, he is a proven winner in claiming grade and he should go well again today. Crocolat ran respectably on fibersand debut two weeks ago. It has to be slightly unerring that she is dropped in grade so sharply but Neville Callaghan is an excellent placer of horses and Darryll Holland has been booked. Banners Flying was rated in the mid-seventies when with Barry Hills. David Chapman has had plenty of time to take a look at the horse and the market will be watched to see what he has shown at home. Tinian hails from an in-form yard but his all-weather form is not a patch on his turf efforts. Dante's Battle should be fit from a spell under National Hunt rules while Kentucky Bullet invariably threatens to win a race in spite of a losing run of over a year. Spanish Star gets the speculative nod at the likely prices.
