        Verdict

        Alzarma has plenty of placed form of late and can come good at the expense of Tree Roofer and Velvet Touch. Alzarma has been given a summer break after going close on a number of occasions, including on his one outing on this surface to date in may when he was just caught close home. This is about his level, but he will surely crack out and hang on one day, and the drop back to five furlongs should be in his favour against moderate opponents. Tree Roofer is still a maiden after 42 career outings, and although vastly more experienced on an artificial surface, is definitely worth taking on again. Velvet Touch always seems to be found wanting over five furlongs, yet struggles to stay six, and so cannot be put forward with any confidence either, while Bold Maggie showed a glimmer of ability at Leicester in June but has gone right off the boil of late. One of them will be visiting the winner's enclosure for the first time ever today, and on the evidence so far, it should be Alzarma.
