Verdict

Dark Mahler has rattled up a hat-trick in small-field points and is clearly in great heart at present but may find BALLOTIN too hot to handle. The Hobbs charge impressed when easily accounting for Double Ross at Leicester on his penultimate start and was still going along nicely when coming to grief four out the last day. Setting a strong standard here, he should be good enough with a clear round. Martha's Benefit will find this easier than when pulling up latest at the Cheltenham hunter chase evening and similar comments apply to Shimla Dawn who failed to complete at Aintree when last seen but has claims on his smooth Musselburgh success back in February.
