In depth

Verdict

KARTA may improve sufficiently from her debut to take this contest but it will, of course, be interesting to see if there's any interest in Funky Munky and Clippity Clop on debut. Mark Johnston has his string in fine form as we build up to the start of the turf season and it's reasonable to expect his daughter of Diktat to build on her debut. She missed the break that day but stayed on well enough over seven to believe that she can win races at around this trip. Clippity Clop is related to a winner over six and seven and is respected for a yard that has hit the target with three of their ten runners at the track this year. Funky Munky is also worth bearing in mind whilst Magical Destiny already has the form in the book to suggest that he should be a major player but we've given the nod to Karta.
