In depth
Verdict
Just an average contest in which the winner should come from either course winner Avalon Buck or Sunday Habits, with the former a rather tentative choice. Venetia Williams' campaigner hasn't always impressed with his jumping, but as he has already prove himself around this trappy circuit, he gets a narrow vote. Sunday Habits has been running consistently well, without quite getting his head in front. He stays well and must have every chance in this, even though he has to race from out of the handicap. First Officer needs to put behind him a poor effort at Huntingdon, but if doing so comes right into the equation. Scallybuck needs to improve his fencing before he can be a serious proposition, while Grate Deel's best days are surely behind him at the age of 13.
