In depth

Verdict

Beauchamp Star gets the call here ahead of, mainly, Moon Shot and Bulberry Hill. Beauchamp Star showed improved form to win here over 11 furlongs on his latest start and, given that that was his first try on the surface, looks poised to go well again. Moon Shot is competitively weighted, but he travelled well last time before finding little at the business end of things. Maybe the two-furlong drop in trip will help in that respect. The course and distance winners in the line-up are Bulberry Hill and Muqarrar. The latter is back to just below a winning mark, although the former has been running better than him of late, and should go well again. Tharua won off today's mark here in November and, although that was over two miles, he has gone well over this trip in the past, while Beaumont Girl has not really built on her Catterick selling win in September. Finally, Liquid Lover would hold a chance based on his short-head second to Bulberry Hill over course and distance on 13 December, although the latter is a pound better off today. The others have a bit to prove overall and, once again, the selection is Beauchamp Star.
