    Verdict

A poor race in which Peppin's Gold is taken to see off the claims of Bertrada and Bear Essential. Winning hasnt been a habit for many of these and Peppin's Gold is no exception. The filly has raced as if a step up to a mile could suit and rates a minimal stakes play given the element of doubt that permeates over many. Bertrada has to be respected given the booking of Steve Drowne. The blinkers have been removed after a disappointing recent run. Bear Essential ran a fair race at Lingfield Park after an absence and is likely to have come on for that race. The Light Fandango is now 0 from 13 and a regular at lowly levels. Muree Queen obliged in a bad race at Wolverhampton but it is no exaggeration to say that this race is any better. Jousting has an eye-catching booking and the visor is on. Irish Relative would have chances of going close on his recent run over course-and-distance and cannot be discounted on a drop in grade. Not the greatest of betting mediums and Peppin's Gold receives a tentative nod.
