In depth

Verdict

PENNFIELD PIRATE has improved since last year's inauspicious debut on this surface and scored at Chepstow last August. He's the one to beat judged on his recent second at Newbury and Hughie Morrison's charge gets the vote. Castle Myth was in fine form here at the start of the year and won a seller over C&D, while Mighty Mambo was placed on his only start on Fibresand and has solid claims on his best turf form. River Ardeche has been given a chance by the handicapper after two years without a win and Carnac has place claims.
