        Verdict

        Although BARATARIA might not be as good as he looked when scoring easily over course and distance last week, there seems little doubt that he is well handicapped at present and he should be good enough to follow up here, with This Ones For Eddy the main danger. Hayley Turner again gets the leg-up on Barataria, who ran on well when the others had cried enough here and the 6lb penalty the gelding has to carry should not be enough to stop him. This Ones For Eddy was stepped up in trip here on Tuesday when trying to defy a penalty for a 6f win here previously. He goes up another furlong here to a mile but his running the other day suggested he would stay this far and there is no doubt that he looks a threat. Kingsholm has not won over this trip for a couple of years and has largely been campaigned over further since then, so although he has ability things may happen a bit too quickly for him. Government and Louisiade have plenty to find with This Ones For Eddy on Tuesday's running, while the latter's stablemate Spume would come into it if finding anything like a glimmer of his best. However, for today we prefer Barataria.
