In depth

Verdict

Nicky Richards sends Emperor Ross to post here and he is taken to get the better of Abalvino and Master Papa. The selection has not been seen on the track since June but providing he is fit enough to do himself justice today then his overall form would mark him down as the one to beat. Abalvino will relish today's ground conditions but he was a little disappointing last time at Huntingdon and with this in mind he is difficult to recommend with any confidence. Master Papa has shown bits of form over fences but nothing that would inspire major confidence and he did throw in a poor run over hurdles last time. River Pirate failed to complete last time and is another to have reservations about and in a desperate affair we will stick with Emperor Ross as the one to beat.
