In depth

Verdict

Mazij hit form in October and has won four of her five starts since then including her latest outing over C&D. She steps up a grade today but looks sure to make another bold bid, although THE LOCK MASTER may be good enough to prevent her following up. A winner on this surface at this time last year, he's finished runner-up in five subsequent starts on Fibresand and looks to be a few lengths better at this track than anywhere else. Bivouac has been found out in handicap company since landing a claimer here last month and, with Admirable Duque and Chookie Hamilton looking in the handicapper's grip, Tartan Gunna and Union Island could prove bigger threats.
