Verdict

Blue Hills gets the vote over Bethanys Boy, Red River Rock, Great As Gold and Takes Tutu. Blue Hills makes a quick reappearance after his defeat at Kempton on Saturday when he paid the price for trying to make all over two miles, running out of steam in the straight and dropping back through the field. A return to slightly more restrained tactics back over the 14-furlong trip that suits him better will hopefully pay dividends, with William Carson able to make the most of his 7lb claim. Bethanys Boy struck winning form in a 12-furlong seller here last week and now shoulders a 6lb penalty. That makes his task harder, and he can be taken on. Of the remainder, Red River Rock is a course-and-distance winner but has gone off the boil of late, while Great As Gold was last seen in action over hurdles in January. Jamie Spencer has been booked for the well-handicapped Takes Tutu who has to prove that he stays this sort of trip, and all in all we would rather side with Blue Hills, who in the main has been the most consistent.
