        Verdict

        Swords can benefit from the step back up in trip to prevail at the expense of Gandiloo Gully, with Faithisflying and Now Look Away others to note. Swords has been tried over a variety of trips during his career, and was noted staying on well over seven furlongs here last time with Gandiloo Gully behind in fourth. The step up to a mile will be in his favour, and he can meet the latter on better terms as well. Mind you, Gandiloo Gully is lightly raced and has more scope than most, so should be capable of picking up a small race or two in time. Faithisflying has been a regular visitor to Southwell on his last five starts but has only twice raced over a mile in his whole career, while Now Look Away in contrast drops back slightly in trip after trying to make all all here a fortnight ago. He can make a bold bid to lead from start to finish again, but Swords is the pick.
