Verdict

Percy's Word got off the mark over a bit further in a maiden here 12 days ago but that was his ninth attempt over timber and he might not enjoy a drop back in distance. Sharp Suited would almost certainly have been placed had he not fallen at the last at Worcester in June and he still has scope but James Park Woods was only 1-19 on the Flat and Night Bear has fared little better and has been out of sorts. CAMPROND has been running really well in smart handicap company this year, as well as winning at Taunton and Market Rasen, and he may be too good for these despite the double penalty. Bumper winner Punxsutawney Phil hasn’t run since April.
