In depth

Verdict

It will be interesting to see how Swing Bill performs on his first start for David Pipe having formerly been trained by Henrietta Knight when last seen over two years ago but a safer option looks to be MARIA ANTONIA, who gets the vote ahead of Stumped. The last mentioned has been running well of late, mainly in sellers, and lost no caste in defeat behind Rathrockscourt back in a handicap at Newton Abbot earlier this month. Racing off the same mark today he has solid claims of resuming winning ways. Gary Moore's Harry Tricker looks a shade high in the weights for his belated reappearance but cannot be discounted with the yard back among the winners. Kickahead won well over course and distance last time but an 8lb rise for that may prevent him from following up and of more interest may be Super Ross, who has been running well in sellers and claimers of late and could be of interest back in a handicap. The vote then goes to Alison Thorpe's Maria Antonia, who has shown improved form throughout the season, was good value for his win at Newton Abbot last month and he is taken to defy the 10lb rise for that success.
