Verdict

Only four runners go to post for this novice chase event but it's not a bad contest with many of the field being decent hurlers. OTAGE DE BRION can make his experience count over ex good hurdlers Baily Strom and Classic Swan. The selection seems to be getting the hang of the chasing game as his last win shows. He has by far the most experience having run six times over the larger obstacles. His jumping had let him down in the past but he has improved in that department on good ground. As long as the ground stays quick he should go well with his front running style suiting this course. Baily Storm and Classic Swain were both decent types over hurdles and can make their presence felt today. The latter was known as a bit of a monkey in the past so he may be best watched on debut. However, he has ability so a market check in also advised on Paul Nicholls' rogue. Mumbles Pier is the other entrant but he has a bit to find on hurdles form so the Longsdon horse is the selection.
