In depth

Verdict

Rebel Yeats couldn’t follow up his impressive Warwick maiden hurdle win last time and though the drop back to two miles will suit, preference here is for DEAR SIRE. Donald McCain’s five-year-old hasn’t found thing easy in his last two handicap outings, but he has been thoroughly consistent in novice events and can shoulder top weight to victory. Flying Verse is of some interest but may be best watched on his hurdle debut against more experienced novices, and the same applies to Irish point-to-pointer Wells Gold.
