Verdict
Gan Eagla makes most appeal in a weak finale, with Wild Power, Maniatis and Antony Ebeneezer others to consider. This is not the best of getting out stakes and bets should be kept small, but Gan Eagla has shown enough of late to warrant support here. Venetia Williams's five-year-old failed to score on the Flat in Ireland and to be fair has had just the four outings over hurdles on these shores. He has not looked anything special but may be capable of making an impact now that he steps into handicap-company for the first time. Wild Power was a course and distance winner in October but has gone up the weights since so may struggle a bit, while ex-German Whispered Secret was pulled up as though something was amiss at Huntingdon and is best given a watching brief unless there is any support in the ring. Antony Ebeneezer is also a course and distance winner and has the assistance of Mick Fitzgerald so makes some appeal, but Gan Eagla is the least exposed from a handicapping point of view, so is our final selection of the meeting.
